EXPERTISE & EXPERIENCE

Chrystalla has worked with Stewart Levitt since 1995. Prior to commencing work with Stewart Levitt, Chrystalla gained a wealth of experience in other busy litigation practices in Sydney. At LMG Legal (where Stewart Levitt was the founding partner), Chrystalla was a Salaried Partner and the Senior Litigation Solicitor. Chrystalla is an astute lawyer who has had extensive experience and success in the following practice areas:


Commercial Litigation: In the Supreme and District Courts, with extensive experience in the Land and Environment Court, the NSW Court of Appeal and the Full Court of the Federal Court. Chrystalla has also conducted a number of matters before the High Court of Australia and is an experienced negotiator and a lateral thinker. Although a litigator, Chrystalla will always consider any form of alternative methods of dispute resolution, if it is appropriate for her clients.


Corporations Law and Bankruptcy Act: Chrystalla has represented corporations and individuals against claims for insolvent trading and liquidators, receivers and trustees, including in the pursuit of directors for breaches of statutory and fiduciary duties. Chrystalla has also acted as defence attorney in prosecutions brought by ASIC.


Criminal Law: Chrystalla has defended clients facing serious State and Commonwealth criminal charges, including for murder, manslaughter, sexual assaults, white-collar crime (including fraud) and drug- related offences. She has protected the interests of clients with claims brought against them by the New South Wales Crime Commission, the Australian Crime Commission and ICAC, including actions for the recovery of proceeds of crime.


Professional Negligence: Chrystalla has acted for medical practitioners, real estate agents, dentists, optometrists, accountants and nurses, facing professional negligence suits and disciplinary proceedings.


Estates Disputes: Major litigation under The Family Provision Act, and relating to The Wills Probate and Administration Act.
