Harrowing evidence that a young girl, just 15 at the time, had a gun pointed at her head by police during a raid on her house, has been given  in day 2 of the historic class action alleging systematic abuse by government officials in Palm Island

Palm Islander Schanara Bulsey, who was 15 at the time, remembers telling the policeman who came into her house during a raid that she couldn’t stop crying because “you’ve got a gun to my head”.

Ms Bulsey gave the emotional evidence on Wednesday at a trial to determine whether alleged police failures after the 2004 death in custody of Mulrunji Doomadgee were racially discriminatory.
